If using public transport in the area (buses and tube), you may wish to purchase an Oyster Card. Available from many newsagents in the area as well as tube stations, this card allows you to either pre-purchase a fixed amount of ‘credit’ for individual trips, or a travelcard (daily, weekly, monthly as required) which then allows unlimited travel for the given period.
There are also many bus routes in the area if you prefer to travel at street level and some would say that no trip to London is complete without a ride on the quintessentially English double decker buses.
If you prefer you can just hop in a taxi. You will see London’s iconic black cabs buzzing all around the city and you can either hail one in the street, from a taxi rank or telephone to book one in advance.
Alternatively, why not explore our fabulous city by bicycle? There are a number of Santander Cycle Hire points around town; TfL’s website has more information on this, including some excellent suggestions for cycle sightseeing routes.
The official Transport for London website contains lots of useful information and it is always worth checking this website when possible as it can help when planning your journey and inform you of any delays you may encounter:- www.tfl.gov.uk
