Places to go

"When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford".
So wrote Dr Samuel Johnson in the middle of the 18th Century. This has never been truer.

Planning on a trip to London?

The culture in this country is vast, and the architecture is magnificent. Historical Great Britain is truly something to experience in your lifetime, and London is a surprising city, a perfect place to visit.
London is modern, vibrant, historical, cultured and relaxing.
Visit the London Eye and see London from a totally different perspective- 135 meters up! , or go on the River and see the Capital from yet another angle.
London has an abundance of museums including the irreplaceable British Museum, visit the National Art Gallery with its collection of old masters or the newest art gallery in London, the Tate Modern housed in the old Bank side power station, with a wonderful collection of modern art.
Across the River from the Tate Modern is St Paul's Cathedral; you can reach this by crossing the newest bridge over the river, the Millennium Bridge.
Go shopping in Oxford Street, Regent Street, Bond Street or Knightsbridge. Within these streets are some of the most famous department stores and shops in the world. Alternatively you could visit one of the many street markets like Portobello Market or Camden Market.
London really comes alive in the evening. Whether it is a visit to the many theatres with diverse productions from the latest musical or fringe theatre, it is all here. Stroll through Leicester Square and Covent Garden, where street entertainers are in abundance. Have dinner in the many restaurants that cater for all budgets and tastes, or simply go to a bar and absorb the atmosphere!
We have tried to give you a snapshot of this wonderful city and its diversity. When Dr Johnson was writing in the middle of the 18th Century I doubt if he could imagine that he was writing about London in a new Millennium nearly 250 years later!
